Scepter’s MWCs (Military Water Cans) are BPA (Bisphenol A) free. BPA is a key building block organic ingredient in some polycarbonate and other plastic materials, but it is not an ingredient in either HDPE or LDPE, the materials used in our MWCs.

The longevity of a MWC - being plastic - is 15 years and beyond, and during that period there is no risk of plastic leaching into the water. In principle, the water can should be for transport and short term storage.

Keeping in mind temperature when storing will have an impact on the longevity of a clean water supply.

    Nice Cans!

Excellent water cans for storage and transport/camping. Rugged and easy to use with the dispensing nozzle. If only the Scepter fuel cans were available for purchase...

    Great product

Posted by Ben on 13th Sep 2016

I've had one of these containers for years and just added a second. During the year I use it for emergency water storage. Then when I go camping I take one with us as easy wash/drinking water. Highest possible recommendation.

    Really good water storage

Posted by Scott on 20th Jul 2016

The design of this container is well thought out. The carry handles makes it easier to transport, the lid is easy to change out to the hose spout. I would have gave it 5 stars if they were able to stack on top of each other. I will be buying more in the near future.

    Replacing Nato with Scepter

Posted by Andy G - San Diego on 1st Mar 2016

My prior 20L Nato style water can started to rust as the internal plastic sealant failed. This Scepter can arrived as expected and I intend to get many years out of it compared to the metal Nato style can.

    Scepters are the best

Scepters are best in class and have replaced the nato cans of the past. They don't rust or leak and are strong enough to withstand the elements

    exactly what i was after.

Posted by shenrie on 26th Feb 2015

have been looking around at 5g containers as a water source in a homebuild campervan we are putting together. i had looked at several different bottles/jugs locally but didnt like at least one thing about every setup. then i found a water bottle discussion on the sportsmobile forum with a link to your site. this bottle had all the features i was after in the spots i needed them (im very picky about my setups, lol). i ordered with confidence especially seeing other van owners reviews on durability and function. it arrived promptly and after a quick inspection i was happy to see it was everything i was looking for. great product, great prices, and great service = a very satisfied customer. i will be purchasing more of these as my build progresses. thank you again!

    built tough with thick plastic

Posted by Phill H on 6th Jan 2015

these water cans are built like a tank super tough and strong thick plastic should make these last a very long time not like the standard 5 gallon water jugs that are thin and crack in a year or two, well worth the investment!
